-- The Basics
--
The
four basic requirements for owning your own
website are:
1)
A domain name (i.e.
www.MyWebsite.com) – A unique name that must be
registered with Internic through an accredited
registration service. I offer discounted
registration service at a wholesale rate of only
$19.95 per year, a 43% discount over the standard
retail rate of $35.00 per year currently charged
by the major registrars, such as Network
Solutions.
2) Web hosting service – A web server
on which your website files are stored and
addressed.
I offer affordable hosting service (web space)
through affiliation with a top rated web hosting
company with a
history of 99.5% uptime. – See pricing options.
3) A website – Usually consists of a
collection of HTML and graphic files organized and
formatted
for presentation to the public
over the
world wide web. – See pricing.
4)
A Webmaster – Someone with
technical skills and the capability to perform
maintenance for existing pages and upload website
changes as required to the web server.
Just
the facts...
I
work closely with the client to ensure that your
expectations of the new website are fully
understood, that all desired specifications are
met and that budgetary constraints are honored.
Special attention is given to your business or
personal style (i.e. formal or casual), the image
you want your site to portray, and also toward the
target audience you wish to attract. After a
preliminary discussion detailing all requirements
(usually by phone), you’ll receive a firm price
quote. Then I pick your brain to determine exactly
what you have in mind-- the style, format and
color scheme and of course, the content
you wish to present. I keep in close contact by
phone and email to be sure that I'm fully
understanding your wishes for each step of
development.
